Kathryn will be kicking off the first virtual Australian House & Garden International Seminar Series at Decor + Design & AIFF 360 at 10am AEST on Monday 28 September, sharing her tips on creating ‘The Perfect Room’.

In the lead up to the event, we asked Kathryn to share her inspirations…plus which artist from history she’d choose to be in lockdown with!

How would you define the ‘Kathryn M. Ireland aesthetic’?

Colourful and comfortable, with a lack of orthodoxy.

What’s one design rule you live by?

More is more!

Which artist or designer from history would you choose to be in isolation with?

(Italian Renaissance architect) Andrea Palladio.

Why is interior design important for the world right now?

We are all focused more on how we live, due to being in exile in our homes.

You’ll be taking part live in Decor + Design & AIFF 360’s first virtual Australian House & Garden International Seminar Series on September 28. Can you give us a sneak peek at what you’ll be talking about?

I’ll talk about taking the time to reevaluate our living space, our lives and moving forward and being positive about the future. I’ll also discuss working with my son Otis, who has a textile collection, plus current projects from the Hollywood Hills to Palm Beach, the new fabric collection, and working with artisans versus the big brands.

Kathryn M. Ireland will be opening the Australian House & Garden International Seminar Series this Monday 28 September at 10am AEST. The seminar will be a dynamic mix of exclusive pre-recorded footage and live Q & A. Register now to attend the trade exhibition at Decor + Design 360 and reserve your seminar pass.
