INDUSTRY NEWS: Influential British tastemaker Abigail Ahern will be delivering the keynote at the Australian International Furniture Fair (AIFF) on Friday July 17th 2020, as part of the Australian House & Garden International Seminar Series.
Renowned for being ahead of the design curve, whether she’s pioneering faux botanicals or her seductively dark interiors, Abigail’s trendsetting designs are synonymous with glamour, eclecticism and quintessential British humour. Her cool Brit girl aesthetic creates spaces you never want to leave!
“One of the world’s most exciting designers” – W Magazine
Abigail began her design career in the US, with a portfolio that spans lavish residential properties such as the Ritz Carlton Palm Beach.
Back in the UK, Abigail founded her own retail business in 2003. Her flagship store in Islington is one of the UK’s leading design boutiques, regularly voted one of the coolest places to shop by Elle Decoration and the Telegraph.
“A crepuscular cave of homeware wonders…each carefully curated item has style and wit in spades.” – British Vogue
Abigail has an international following thanks to her retail and product designs, best-selling books and influential blog. In the words of The Independent, “each post on the addictive blog of Abigail Ahern reads like a love letter to your home.”
Ahern has been a leading force in the movement to put faux flowers and plants back on the cool agenda. Her “foraged” take on faux botanicals harnesses a bohemian aesthetic that blurs the line between house and garden. Think trailing tendrils, native branches, heirloom blooms and woodland fronds.
“She changes the feel of a room with her knack for artful arrangements” – Gwyneth Paltrow
We are thrilled that Abigail will be delivering the keynote at this year’s Australian International Furniture Fair (AIFF), on Friday 17th July in the AH&G Seminar Theatre.
Tickets will be released for the entire three-day seminar program at the end of March. Register to visit now and receive updates on the program. Entry to the trade exhibition is free.
Co-located with Decor + Design, this event is Australia’s premier buying and networking destination for the industry; unmissable for retail buyers and designers from across the indoor and outdoor furniture, lighting, textiles, art and soft furnishings sectors. See you in July!
