NEWS: The Australian International Furniture Fair (AIFF) and Decor + Design will be taking a break this year and return to the Melbourne Exhibition Centre from 14 – 17 July, 2022. The 18th edition of Australia’s premier trade event for the furniture and design industry has been postponed due to the recent COVID-19 outbreaks and ongoing issues with state border closures.

As a major design industry event, this decision was not taken lightly. Trade and business events are essential to the Australian economy, contributing an estimated $23 billion  (EEAA) in a usual year.

The past year has proved to us how important in person gatherings are not only for business but for mental health and connection.

AIFF and Decor + Design Exhibition Director Chris May says that the show will return at a time that’s right for the whole industry:

“Decor + Design and The Australian International Furniture Fair (AIFF) is Australia’s most important forum for the design and furniture industry, and it’s crucial it takes place at the best time. Unfortunately, the events industry has been particularly hard hit by the uncertainties of COVID-19.”

“Given the recent COVID outbreaks in Victoria and NSW and each state government’s response, the sensible decision is to reschedule the show until 2022. Running the show this year would severely impact visitors and exhibitors from interstate, as well as overall attendance. We’ll be back at a time that’s right for everyone.”

We look forward to returning in 2022 and will keep supporting the design and furniture industry through the latest news, product releases, exhibitor features and virtual masterclasses.
