Modern luxe by Lazy Susan

24 November 2010

Gearing up for its first ever showing at Decoration + Design, new player Lazy Susan is set to take the market by storm with a comprehensive range of novel, design led furniture and accessories.

With the Australian arm of the company launched in July 2010, Lazy Susan's heritage dated back over 30 years as a leading retail brand in the Asian market, boasting around 60 stores across Japan and Hong Kong, Lazy Susan Australia's Laurence Fazzari confirmed.

"Widely known as a retailer in Asia, the brand soon began to experience demand from the US, where it was distributed as a wholesale only brand. Demand in the US led to a decision to tweak the collection for the US market, which ultimately resulted in a New York based design team being set up to create a collection with a more western feel. The New York team releases 800 pieces for the US market, and now that we have an Australian arm of the company, around 500 of these pieces will be available to the Australian market."

Aside from highly original, quality product, one of the brand's key points of difference was its regularly updated offer, he said.

"The US team updates the range every six months, which means the Australian market can expect to see 150 new products released every half year."

"This range is totally fresh and new and the response we've had from retailers has been terrific," Fazzari said, adding leading retailers had been quick to commit to the brand after perusing its catalogue online.

Lazy Susan Australia would utilise its presence at Decoration + Design to promote to three client streams: retailers, interior designers and high end hospitality clients, he confirmed.

"One of the key things that's important to emphasise about Lazy Susan Australia is the fact that we have such a huge spectrum of products from the smallest votives to lighting pieces the size of a fully grown man, which are suitable for a wide range of industry clients and end users."

Lazy Susan will debut at Decoration + Design from 2-4 February 2011 at Sydney Exhibition Centre.
